Shortly after leaving Camooweal you reach the Queensland, Northern Territory border. We stopped for the obligatory photo.

Road Trip

This was the view out the front on a recent road trip holiday I made with my parents and sister in the June - July school holidays. I've been delayed posting these photos due to a failed hard drive. The drive is replaced thanks to a youtube how-to and I can now show you all the photos.

Sky Glow

The sky glow of the city of Mount Isa at night. The orange sodium lights glow like ship in the desert.

Conjunction

Another conjunction worth seeing. Get up early in the next few days to catch a glimpse of the planets Jupiter and Venus near the Taurus and Plieades constellations.

A Town Like Alice

The view west of Alice Springs. A very pretty view indeed.

It's Chasmic

The wonderfully warm glow of Standley Chasm near midday in the West MacDonnell range. It is well worth a visit and make sure you arrive around noon. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up to the chasm. The midday light entering the narrow chasm makes the place glow like some surreal natural light bulb.

Heavitree

The famous Heavitree Gap in the MacDonnell Ranges in Alice Springs where the Todd River, the highway and the Ghan railway pass through.

Flag Waving

Glen Helen Stars

Glen Helen Gorge under the stars of the Southern Cross. I got this photo on a recent holiday to the Northern Territory's 'Red Centre'. The cliff walls were wonderfully lit by a gibbous moon.
