Comet Leonard C/2021 A1

I caught my first photo of Comet Leonard C/2021 A1 on the full moon. Not ideal, however it was a start. Hopefully further into the waning moon the contrast will improve and hopefully a clearer and closer shot will be possible. This one was cropeed from a 16mm, f4, 5 second exposure on my trusty old Canon 60D.

Channel Marker

Hidden Crescent

A wide angle sunset view of the early stages of the Lunar Eclipse over Mudjimba. If you look very closely off the tip of the island you will just make out a small crescent, largely hidden by the low cloud.

Mudjimba Eclipse

The longest partial Lunar Eclipse in my lifetime, as seen over Mudjimba Island on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Australia. The ideal shot of the moon rising over the sea was not possible due to the distant cloud on the horizon, but once it popped above the clouds it was still a sight to behold.

Maleny Astro Night
