Mount Isan Home
Tomorrow I leave my Mount Isan home for a road trip. I'll be heading all the way over to that other black dot labelled Brisbane. I'll post some photos when I arrive. And remember to check the road conditions before you go anywhere out here.

Still Raining
This photo was taken at a small BBQ one afternoon. It was still raining then, and it's still raining now. We've had nearly a week of overcast skies and drizzle. It doesn't feel like a desert here at the moment.

Something Warm
It is uncharacteristically cold in Mount Isa today. So I took this photo to warm me up and decided to make some hot food for dinner. According to the Bureau of Meteorology it is an apparent 3.6 degrees Celsius due to the rain and light winds.

Raining
It's raining here today, all day. And when that happens the local creeks and rivers flood. This is the Leichardt River that flows into Moondara Dam. The Isa St crossing here goes under regularly.

Going Home
Of course I had to come home again. This was the Brisbane domestic terminal. It is a bit more sophisticated than Mount Isa of course, it has a much greater traffic load too.

Tree Planting
My trip away from home also took me to a tree planting in Beerwah. Here is one of the Wollemi Pines that we planted, still covered in morning dew. Also see www.wollemipine.com for futher information on these unique trees.

Fire
My trip away from Mount Isa took me to Warwick where this fire was waiting to keep people warm. The occasion was an engagement party, the setting a beautiful lakeside property.

Mount Isa Airport
On the weekend I took a flight from Mount Isa to Brisbane and back again. Here we are boarding the plane as the sun sets rapidly on the Mount Isa airstrip.

Comedy Roadshow
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow came to town tonight. It was a good laugh as you might expect. I had trouble holding the camera still in between laughing.
