Mural Transit

An awesome mural recently completed with the help of smizler.com at the school where I work. It also records the transit of Venus that occurred near the completion of the project, with Venus silhouetted by the sun.

Mouse Circus

A circus of mice at the Mount Isa show. I'd still like to see a Flea Circus.

Chicks

Some young chicks at the Mount Isa show huddling together for extra warmth on a cold and windy day.

Pliosaur

The original and only Richmond Pliosaur and the most complete skeleton of its type. This is worth the drive to see it behind the bullet proof glass in its home town.

Minmi

Another visit to Richmond to see fossils. This time a new angle on the Minmi. Tomorrow look out for a surprise.

Venus Transit And Egress Video

A short video record of the earliest footage of the transit we could get in Mount Isa due to some unseasonal cloud. I think the cloud scudding across the Sun makes it feel more alive. Luckily the cloud cleared completely by time egress arrived and you can see some of that video below.

Transit Of Venus

Yesterday, on Wednesday the sixth of June, was the last transit of Venus across the Sun for 105 years. It was quite a spectacular and significant astronomical event. This is one photo I captured, tomorrow I hope to have some of the video processed to share with you, it is almost as good as being there.

Camooweal Caves Campground

At the Camooweal Caves campground you will find this great water view.

Campdrafting At Camooweal

At the Camooweal rodeo you can catch the spectacle of the Campdraft event where the guy on the horse tries to guide the cow around the gates in the correct order. The cow often wins and gets to go where it wants.

Road Train

A road train pulled up the Camooweal Rodeo under the stars.
