Morning Refraction

Morning Refraction

The land masses of the NSW North Coast as seen across the Pacific Ocean from Byron Bay. This is an optical illusion caused by the refraction of light due to total internal reflection off the ocean's warm surface air layer. Physics is everywhere.

Cloud Catcher

Byron Warning

This is what looks like a mountain range casting some clouds out to sea. It is the Northern Rivers section of New South Wales as seen From Byron Bay. One can just make out the outline of Mount Warning on the clouded horizon.

Geehi Flats

Geehi Camp

The old hut at the Geehi Flats Camping area is now a beautiful picnic hut standing in the shadows of the western fall of the Snowy Mountains.

Dubbo

Macquarie River, Dubbo
I visited Dubbo in central New South Wales and went for a walk along the Macquarie River. On the right you will notice some sand, that is Sandy Beach.
