2026 Lunar Eclipse

A total lunar eclipse last night on March 3 was worth a shot. Truly remarkable view from a dark sky.

Nearing Totality

Nearing closer to totality this shot captures the extreme contrast between the bright and darker regions of the illuminated/shadowed Moon. This is perhaps my favourite shot of the eclipse.

Dissolving Moon

Further into the eclipse progress the Moon was slowly appearing to dissolve from view.

Eclipse Begins

As the eclipse began it was clear that Earth's penumbral shadow was engulfing the Moon.

The total Lunar Eclipse of May 26, 2021. Literally a few seconds after this shot a layer of cool air condensed and clouded out the Moon.

Crouching Mountain, Hidden Moon

The last photo I captured of the totally eclipsed Moon as it faded from view in the morning light.
