Frog

A well camouflaged frog near a waterhole. Perhaps a herpetologist could tell me its name.

Rock Wallaby

Rock Wallaby

The rock wallaby I was photographing just spotted me. I think it was a little surprised to see an intruder in its home territory.

Wildlife

Oxyuranus microlepidotus, Inland Taipan (Fierce Snake)

Returning after a sunset photography session I was walking along a little used 4wd track when I came across this snake. It turns out it was an Inland Taipan, the snake with the world's most toxic venom. It was a very shy creature and I gave it plenty of room and waited patiently for it to move across the road so I could pass. (CORRECTION: this is actually a black-headed python, thanks to Matt www.flickr.com/photos/mattsummerville/ for pointing this out)

Dingo

Australian Dingo

If you look very closely you will see a dingo hiding in the greenery, staring back at you. This was one in a pair of dingos, but they were very cautious and camera shy.
