These lights were up in the morning sky this morning, a near perfect equilateral triangle of celestial conjunction.

Cloudy And Milky

Tonight the clouds were not going to put me off doing a little astronomy. And the gaps in the clouds provided just the right foreground to the Milky Way Galaxy behind. The sodium light pollution from the town is evident in the reflections from the clouds.

Planetary Gear

A photo of this morning's planetary conjunction between Venus and Jupiter just before sunrise. Having the right gear made all the difference to capturing this shot. A narrower lens was too dark, a wider lens too bright, but this one, just right.

Waiting

Waiting for the parade to start as the officials clear the path for the floats to follow in the Isa Rodeo Mardi Gras Parade.

The Mount Isa Rodeo Mardi Gras parade was led by the official mascot Chainsaw the bull and the Rodeo queens.

Titan And Saturn

In this shot with an over exposed Moon, you can make out an also over exposed Saturn and just barely visible between the two is Saturn's largest moon Titan. That's pretty cool, one planet and two Moons in the same photo, taken from Earth.

Occultation

Another occultation of the planet Saturn by the Moon. This was just an hour ago here in Mount Isa, at 8:50pm.
