The rich galactic core of our Milky Way Galaxy, bejewelled with nebulae, star clusters and clouds of gas and dust. A spectacular sight under a dark sky. Of course, this photograph reveals far more than the eye can see as it is 30 seconds of exposure at f2.8.

Boulia Campout

The night sky view from the Boulia Caravan Park is very dark despite the necessary lighting for the campers. Here you can see part of the Milky Way and the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Medium Format Milky Way

A medium format sized portrait of the Milky Way Galaxy. This was done by stitching photographs together, but the result is still the same, very pleasant. A medium format camera would be on my 'to buy' list were they not the price of a car.

Cloudy And Milky

Tonight the clouds were not going to put me off doing a little astronomy. And the gaps in the clouds provided just the right foreground to the Milky Way Galaxy behind. The sodium light pollution from the town is evident in the reflections from the clouds.
