Nine Years

Today marks nine years since I started this blog with its very own 'hello world' post.
I started it with some inspiration from parisdailyphoto.com and my first digital camera, a Pentax Optio S7 which I still have reason to use on occasion. This photo pretty much sums up the reasons for blogging around the outback expanse of Queensland and Mount Isa. A swimming hole a half hour's drive out of town makes for a pleasant outing. The blue sky, red rock, snappy gum trees and a little water amongst the desert make for endless landscape photography opportunities.

Moon Cloud

The whole Moon is visible in this over exposed shot, revealing the reflection of light from Earth that illuminates the darkness behind the bright crescent. The passing clouds pay no mind to the Moon above.

Another green frog from Rigby Falls. This one is much smaller than the last, and looks rather lean. The waterhole is shrinking as the trickle of water slowly dwindles.
