Happy Leap Year

Coolum Cave Sendfest

Today only comes around once every 4 years. February 29. A human system imposes an order that nature does not quite match, so we smear the result a little every now and then to keep things in step. This photo was from a while ago when I went to visit the Coolum Cave Sendfest. There were two young brothers being guided up a climb on the morning I visited and it reminded me of my own brother, who just so happens to have a birthday on the 29th of February.

Mount Beerwah Summit

Beerwah Summit View

A view from the top of Mount Beerwah. The last time I climbed up here was in 2007, 13 years ago. It was wonderful to return to the mountain I have always enjoyed climbing for many years.

Brisbane's Best Restaurant

Govinda's

Govinda's is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Brisbane, and certainly my favourite place to eat when I get to visit the CBD.

Metaphor?

Metaphor?

When I look at this sculpture near GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) in Brisbane I can't help but think that it is trying to tell us something through metaphorical image.

Pagoda Detail

Wood Carving

The details of the wood carving on the Nepalese Peace Pagoda are extraordinary. Every single surface is intricately adorned.

Nepalese Peace Pagoda

Nepalese Peace Pagoda

My favourite place in Brisbane, the Nepalese Peace Pagoda at Southbank. The Peace Pagoda was one of my favourite pavillions from the World Expo 88 exhibition and Brisbane was very fortunate to be able to keep it here on site for future generations.
