Isfjordradio Stars With Guest

The evening of the Total Solar Eclipse saw this scene over the Isfjordradio station just before midnight. I set the camera up for some star trails and went back inside for some warmth while the camera did all the hard work. When we came back out (with a wonderful guide on polar bear watch) we saw this hint of Miss Aurora flashing to life. We stood in awe and amazement for some moments as we silently watched the amazing display grace the skies with her beauty. A truly spectacular and unforgettable moment.

Barents Sea

The Barents Sea in Kirkenes, Norway. This was the furthest north I headed on my aurora chasing journey. From here I could almost smell the North Pole, and the Russian border was only a few kilometres away. The city of Murmansk was a mere 20 km drive across the border.

Aurora Spikes

Spikes of green and red can be seen in this shot of the Aurora Borealis. The light is so magical and enchanting as it dances across the sky. Aurora Borealis

An hour's drive northwest of Tromsø with greenfoxguiding we came to this quiet spot by the arctic sea and waited patiently in the cool wind for the magnetic sky show to begin. We were graced by a wonderful display.
