This is Skull Hole in Bladensburg National Park near Winton. It is the site of a massacre of Aboriginal people from the 1800's.

Verandah Out The Back

At the old Bladensburg Homestead you will find this wonderful view from the verandah out the back. I was expecting an old rocking chair and a few more gum trees. But they did have a sheep or two and some kangaroo for sure.

Wide Brown Land

This is definitely the terrain of the wide brown land for me. On the far horizon you can just see the Bladensburg Homestead. I too am homesick for this beautiful outback country.

Cairn

Just outside the Bladensburg National Park entrance is this cairn of stones. It has a lot of history and apparently was the location of a shearers strike that in part lead to the formation of a political party. The unusual things you find out west in the bush.
