Zeitgeist Tibrogargan

A good friend took me up Zeitgest on Mount Tibrogargan. It's been a long while since I've climbed outdoors and my endurance was lacking, so I seconded the 3 pitches. It is a spectacular climb with the first crux on pitch 1 rated at 17. A few tricky moves here caused me to take a couple rests before solving it. The remainder was pretty straight forward and rewarding to arrive on top of Cave 1 on the east face. This was looking up the first pitch from anchor 1.

Cave 4

This photo looks back the other way to where yesterday's photo was taken from. This shows some more of the scale of Cave 4 on Tibrogargan. Just behind this photo is the start of a climb called Prometheus II that leads directly up into Cave 5.

Tiny Human

If you look closely you will spot a tiny human wearing an orange helmet on the pinnacle in the centre of the photo. That is me, in Cave 4, on Tibrogargan.

Cave 4 Beehive

The beehive in Cave 4 roof is still there, at least 20 years after I last visited.

Tibro Face

Looking up to the face of Tibro from the bottom of the Boulder Problem. There are many climbs on this face, and a classic Trojan route through the middle.

Boulder Problem

Above Cave 5 and the scrub you come to this boulder problem as the crux on the Caves Route. It takes a couple tries, feel out the holds and find the foot holds and you're up. It's a great problem and not too challenging. The finish is out of the chimney and a scramble to the summit.

Cave 4 Peek

A peek at Cave 4 around the corner from Cave 3. I did not attempt the traverse across to Cave 4 on this climb, the exposure made me have a second thought and wait till I had a rope with me for safety.
