Pussytail Flower

Another Pussytail flower. The first one I've seen at the lake. You may remember this one from last year.

A walk on Soldier's Hill revealed this desert flower happily flowering away.

Native Kapok (Cochlospermum gillivraei)

These flowers can be seen all over the island in spring. They are edible with a consistency like marshmallow and high in vitamin C.
