An Easter hike up Remarkable Ridge near Lake Julius provides some spectacular views of the surrounding plains, including Mount Remarkable.

I took a drive to Lake Julius dam. I got this nice photo. It even rained for a few minutes.

Kajabbi Via Lake Julius

Last weekend I made a trip to Kajabbi. I drove the short way, which means about 120km of dirt road. Much of it corrugated, with some sections of large bulldust holes. It is currently in very good condition due to a lack of rain and easily passable in a two wheel drive car.

Lake Julius

This is the view over Lake Julius from the lookout. It's a damn impressive dam.
This is about a three hour drive from Mt Isa on a fairly rough dirt road. It is a well maintained road but requires low speeds, and the last section is impassable to on-road vehicles. If you don't have a 4wd you'll need to walk the last 3 or 4km because the dry river bed crossing is smooth loose stones. Only a dry season road.
