Sunspot 2192

The large sunspot 2192 crossing the face of the sun Saturday morning. This is quite spectacular to see, and fun to photograph, with the right solar filter (Never look directly at the sun!).

Dr Who?
Near the George Fisher mine just outside town is this utility box that some person has cleverly painted. It would appear that Dr Who has landed in Mount Isa and, needing some extra power for the Tardis, has erected a solar panel to collect the abundant sunlight.

Photovoltaic Power
Solar panels for the NextG tower on the same hill. There is so much sunshine out here the solar panels can't get enough.
