Happy New Year!
And what a wet start it has been, 144mm of rain in 24 hours on the Jump-Up. So with a day off I decided to go chasing waterfalls. This was number one, the falls running down Deep Gully.

Happy New Year 2014!
Happy new year from Finland! This was taken at the midnight fireworks put on by the Hotel Kultahippu in Ivalo. They just walk out on the frozen river, light the fuse and run. It was the closest I have ever been to fireworks, and the coldest new year I've experienced. The wind was blowing snow flakes into my eyes like sand, it was chilly! Everyone buys fireworks over here, people were setting them off up and down the river throughout the evening.

Happy New Year!
I saw in the New Year with many other people at the Mooloolaba New Year Festival watching Kate Miller-Heidke. An awesome performer to top off the night before the fireworks. The lyrics in her songs are amazingly creative and thoughtful. You can view a snippet of her performance here on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWEbyKmom1g
