Sauropod Serenade

Tonight Opera Queensland are rehearsing for a performance on Friday night under the dark skies of the Jump Up International Dark Sky Sanctuary. Serenading the Sauropods and other dinosaurs to sleep.

Ancient Rock Pillars

These ancient pillars of cap rock on the edge of the Jump-Up at the AAOD Museum of Natural History are very old. And despite their appearance, are completely unsuitable for climbing due to their crumbly, fragmenting nature.

Dinosaur Sunsets

The sunsets in the Outback are spectacular. This one is from Dinosaur Canyon on the AAOD Jump Up.

Banjo

My favourite dinosaur, Banjo the Australovenator wintonensis still stands against the weathering of geological time at the Australian Age Of Dinosaurs Museum on the Jump-Up in Winton.

Speed Limited Dinosaurs

Arriving on the Jump-Up you find these awesome signs. Of course the speed limit is for cars, however I would not follow it if a velociraptor were on the loose.

And finally the destination is reached after two days of driving. The Australian Age Of Dinosaurs Natural History Museam and International Dark Sky Sanctuary. A literal oasis of dinosaurs and stars in the desert.

Winton Jump-Up

The final destination for my trip was the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Jump-Up near Winton. This very new Camry got me there and back from Longreach.
