Icehouse

Icehouse 45m Down Looking down the 45m Icehouse (16) climb that I abseiled and then ascended on toprope solo. It's quite a way compared to what I'm used to, but did it just fine. Great climb, I highly recommend it. Enough jugs to keep you going for that next good hold.

Icehouse Trad

First Protections

Near the beginning of Icehouse you are carrying a whole lot of extra weight in the gear needed to place in the cracks for protection.

Relief

Icehouse

That is me and a face of happiness and relief of having passed the crux move on Icehouse, knowing that I'm actually going to reach the top.

Icehouse Trad Climb

Getting Higher

Today I climbed Icehouse on belay after Sandro did all the hard work of leading and protecting the climb. This is a classic climb on Ngungun's upper cliffs, grade 16, plenty of jugs but 45 metres is a long way up. I was struggling in a few moments and I wasn't even having to place gear. Thanks for putting in the hard yakka Sandro.
