Old Navigation Tower

Old Navigation Tower Looking out to see you can make out the reamins of an old navigation tower. The only thing left are the foundation piles that were driven into the sand to stabilise it. Erosion over the last 30 years has brought this tower to the beach front, when it was originally in the middle of the island.

Just north of Longreach is a small hill called Starlight's Lookout. This rock formation had eroded to produce a window view on the plain below.

Weathering

Amity Point

The typical weathering and erosion that occurs on sandy islands here at Amity Point on North Stradbroke Island is constantly taking its toll on the trees that were trying to hold onto the sand.
