Serendipitous

A serendipitous discovery at the Cloncurry tourist centre and Mary Kathleen museum. This rock may be a piece of the original meteorite chain that hit at the Henbury impact site in the Northern Territory. The last place I would have expected to make such a find.

What happens when you chop a rock in half and find copper inside? You start a copper mine. This is why Mount Isa is so rich in copper, the mother lode. This sample was at the Mary Kathleen tourist centre in Cloncurry.
