This is Australia's coat of arms. Our national symbol, the flags of the six states surrounded by the kangaroo and emu.

Lawn

The lawn leading to the top of the hill. You have to go inside through security now days to get onto the rooftop proper. It's sad that fear has caused this.

Parliament House Canberra

I also visited Canberra on the drive back from Melbourne. This is the new Parliament House. It has a nice green lawn covering it which you can walk up for a view.

The Beach

The beach near the Melbourne port, complete with cruise ships.

Melbourne Tram

I went to Melbourne and got this photo of a tram. It's a beautiful city, they even have a beach.

Brisbane Christmas Tree

The 2009 Christmas Tree in King George Square, Brisbane, complete with a postbox for Santa letters. Merry Christmas to you all, have a safe and happy holiday.

I set up camp on the farm and waited for the sky to get dark.

Small Pandanus trees take hold on the coral beach while providing a wonderful photo opportunity.

Coral Beach

This is the view along Coral Beach. Spectacular. And I was the only person there.

Signs

A sign that it is not safe to swim at Coral Beach, Shute Harbour. This was disappointing after a hot humid walk through the bush to get there. However, one does not mess with crocodiles.

Goanna

I visited Airlie Beach on my way south from Townsville. On a great bushwalk which you will see more of tomorrow, I saw this goanna heading up a tree as I approached.

Second stop, Masala Indian restaurant in Townsville. My favourite place to eat in Townsville is this little Indian restaurant on Palmer Street. Delicious curry and samosa.

Wide Load

This was the first thing I saw as I left Mount Isa on Tuesday morning. I only had to wait 15 minutes before I could overtake and being first in line behind the truck meant I got a clear run through to the Curry.

This installation of satellite dishes continually tracks satellites for the purposes of communicating via satellite phone around the world. It is amazing living so close to this incredible technology, yet we hardly even see it.
