Moreton Dreaming

Looking across to Moreton Island in the distance, with the southern tip of Bribie in the left foreground. The next trip will be a visit across Moreton Bay to Moreton Island itself.

Moreton Bay Marine Park

Pumicestone Glasshouse

A wonderful view of the Glasshouse Mountains from the southern end of Pumicestone Passage. A sunset or sunrise from here would make a spectacular photo.

Caloundra

The view back to Caloundra and Happy Valley and Bulcock beaches.

Caloundra Bar

A quick trip to cross out and return over the Caloundra Bar at high tide was worth the effort as there were no breaking waves in the small swell. Possbily one of the luckiest days to cross, and near perect weather for boating.

Underwater Sonar

Learning to use the sonar to view the underwater world, such as this shadow of a submerged tree.

Lake Somerset

At the northern end of Lake Somerset there is a line of trees left behind to let you know that the depth is not certain and submerged obstacles may lay ahead.

Somerset Dam

On the last weekend of the school holidays I took a trip out to visit Lake Somerset. This is the Somersat Dam wall.

A visit to Winton involves several hours of expansive outback driving when transferring from Longreach.

Playing With Telescopes

A recent trip for some volunteer work with the Australian Age of Dinosaurs (AAOD) took me to Winton via BNE, LRE and hire car.
